Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

j-JAYS are designed to produce a clear and heavy duty bass, but the 9 mm dynamic driver doesn't compromise on the mids and highs. They combine Swedish design, functionality, look and feel into a small and impressive bass machine. The soft JAYS silicone rubber sleeves efficiently block out ambient noise and leave a silent setting.

JAYS Sound Isolating System reduces the background noise of modern life. With this silent setting you can listen at reduced volumes without loosing the sound experience.

j-JAYS cord can be adjusted both in length and with different input connectors. j-JAYS comes standard with a 0.6m (~24inch) long cable and a 0.9m (~35inch) extension cord, both with a straight 3.5mm (1.8 in) Mini-Plug Stereo connector. In addition to this there is also a cable with an L-shaped 3.5mm (1.8 in) Mini-Plug Stereo connector available for purchase as an accessory.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality product-Sleek Design, Impecable sound. 30 Mar 2010
I originally baught the Sennheiser Cx400 Precision II,but the quality was poor, so i purchased these Jays j-Jays and the sound quality was simply incredible. The bass is good, and after wearing them for about 4 months now they are still working as they were when i first baught them. Again i think most things have been said already, but overall it is a quality product that comes with a large range of extras. I must say though the cord length is incredibly short and if you use the attachment that is supplied it becomes incredibly long. However, this is nit picking a little, I strongly reccomend this product. It's ideal for general everyday use, on the train/bus to and from work/school.

5.0 out of 5 stars J Jays great alternative to sennheiser 3 Dec 2009
Let me start by saying im not an audio technician or expert in any way however i have been buying about 3 pairs of headphones a year for years. This time i decided to go up a price bracket and pay a bit more and see if there was much difference, there was! The notes are so much clearer, the bass is not too heavy and i can hear bits in the music that were so subtle i never could before. I have tried the sennheiser CX300 and in general these wipe the floor with them.

Never mind the sound, the accessories you get are brilliant, an aeroplane adapter and 4 different ear fittings including a foam pair, you also get 4 wax filters for replacing them if necessary. When you get the correct fit the sound isolation in these is brilliant i cant hear traffic (or old biddies on the bus!)

I have only given them 4 stars as mine broke today (which is not surprising as i use them very heavily!) however to my relief Jays offer a 2 year warranty and after contacting amazon they have placed a new pair in the post today. I also noticed they are half price at the minute so theyre a bargain. I have to go back to my old JVCs today until i await my new pair and the bass is heavy, and im back to hearing outside noise and missing elements of the music. I hope my new pair arrive very very soon!

I would definately recommend these for the everyday music listener who is looking for a bit more from their everyday earbuds!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great sound, just not noise cancelling 13 Jan 2011
By vica4+
I like these earphones because they can be perfectly adjusted to fit (5 different sizes) and the sound is really great and 'warm'. They even come with a splitter, plane adapter and extra filters. Mine just had one cord at a good length. I gave it 4 stars simply because I thought they were noise cancelling, which they are not, but with such a good fit to my ears most noise is quite well suppressed - and you should hear the ambulance while travelling anyway. Good value for money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sound could be better. 27 Dec 2010
By Sav
After having two of the three pairs of Sennheiser cx300iis i got break down after a few months' use, I decided to buy these for my teen son.
First impressions are good. It's immediately obvious that care was put into the packaging and the accompanying instructions and accessories and after three months' use they still work perfectly. I don't know, though, if it's because of better build quality or greater care from my son.
I decided to do a head to head comparison with the pair of cx300ii's that still work before writing my review.
Holding the ear phones in place, and listening to several songs on my laptop, I found the Sennheisers better in almost every respect. Greater insight into the music, more open soundstage, tighter bass and better rhythm. The Jays do have heavier bass but the whole presentation is like it has been put thru the blender. It sounds muted and when listening to a classical piece it's a struggle to distinguish the different instruments.
I wish I could give an unreserved recommendation for the Jays, as I'm very disappointed with the Sennheissers, but their sound just lets them down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value for money and sound quality 10 July 2010
Verified Purchase
Having used the previous model of s-JAYS, which I may add were terrific until the wire frayed at the jack input, I am delighted to report that this new model represents a marked improvement in nearly every department. The sound quality is rich and solid on the bass and crisp on higher frequencies. I tested them on Mozart's Requiem to ensure it met my needs and it passed with flying colours. The only wire issues I suffered with the old model, which included the annoying split cable with a short earplug cable and extension, have been fully rectified. This model has the classic all in one cable which is great (if a design isn't broken, why try to fix it?) The cable is also made of much more durable rubber than the previous model, which can only be encouraging for longevity. My old s-JAYS lasted nearly 2 years and cost 50. These new ones are a vast improvement in nearly every way (sound quality was always top class and remains so). The most impressive aspect of these earphones is the fantastic price, 22.50! I can assure you that you won't find better for this price. Add in the included splitter, replacement filters (which last ages, I still have a set from my old earphones) and wide choice of ear buds for bespoke fit, you have an absolute bargain. I know I must sound like an s-JAYS marketing representative, but trust me, I am just a very happy customer who felt compelled to post a glowing review.

Cheers
