Light, Light, Light! 6 Nov. 2014
By K.Wagner - Published on Amazon.com
Colour Name: Shade 02 Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
JAPONESQUE Liquid Light, Shade 02 is LIGHT! It is light in every way. Straight out of the box, it looks a lot darker than it does when applied. The product is light and absolutely non greasy. When applied, there is no heavy make up feeling, like that of some foundations. Which leads me to say, that this product says that it may be used as a foundation or as a bit of color to highlight. I have tried it both ways. When applied this does not cover any flaws, because of the lightness of the product, I myself prefer to use it as a very minimal splash of color on my cheeks over a BB cream that I use. The color is barely there, but it feels to me as if it just brightens up my face a bit. So, if you are looking for a dramatic look, this is not the product for you. If you are going for a bright, natural look, you should certainly give it a try!

Edited to add that this is a cruelty free product!

Warning! Japonesque Will Not Change Your Life. 2 Nov. 2014
By E. Burian-Mohr - Published on Amazon.com
Colour Name: Shade 02 Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I have some bad news. This product will not change your life.

The descriptions says that, not only does it dress your skin in an illuminating veil of radiance, but that it creates a beautiful shimmering incandescence that ‘light skin from within.'

I was hoping to be transformed into a shimmering incandescent version of myself. That hasn't happened, though perhaps when I've used it for longer, I can look forward to these life-changing properties.

I'm a minimal makeup kind of girl, so used it on top of my BB cream, which is all the foundation I use. I applied Japonesque to accents the contours of my cheekbones. And, while the color looks a little strange when pumped into your hand, it blends nicely. I added a touch of blush on top of the Japonesque to add more color. The effect was pleasing and very subtle, which is always my goal. I don't have any urge to look like I've used a ton of makeup.

It comes in an elegant-looking little pump bottle with a small footprint. It pumps a reasonable amount of product. It doesn't tip over easily.

So I like it. I'll have to get back to you about lighting my skin from within. I may need to stick a light bulb in my mouth for that, but then I'd look like Uncle Fester.

Alert To Minimal Makeup Girls - Great Highlighter To Accent Your Cheekbones/Face 18 Nov. 2014
By Ctwink - Published on Amazon.com
Colour Name: Shade 02 Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I got the Japonesque Liquid Light (Shade 02) for my wife to try out not really knowing what I was going to get. I read the reviews ahead of time and the vary wildly with some people liking it (despite it appearing to be "Oompa Loompa Sauce" - love that quote!) and other people hating it. I thought my wife would try it a couple times and toss the rest. I was wrong.

My wife with much trepidation (as she wears VERY LITTLE makeup in general and is adverse to trying anything new) applied a very little amount of this VERY ORANGE AND SPARKLY makeup on and spread it over her cheekbones. The result was not a huge orange splotch of her face, but very muted coloring (like a very slight tan) with just a few sparkles for highlights. It did not show lap lines (like we all saw with Middle School girls who are first trying out makeup) and honestly I could barely tell the difference. The next day she tried it again and put a little more on - still only on her cheekbones - and it gave her a slightly more tanned coloring to her face and again with faint sparkleys. As an experiment, she continued to put more and more of it on to see where the break point would be and should would start looking like she had a run-in with some mutant clown-faced unicorn. Turns out, it was alot - probably three big squirts of the Liquid Light - before it started to look Oompa Loompa-ish.

As far as cost, my wife seemed to think that $28 was alot, but again she is quite frugal and buys very little makeup. In my mind, considering the very little amount she uses, I think the bottle will last at least a year and thus, $28 isn't really that much. Overall, my wife now wears it every day and I think it looks very pretty and only accents her features instead of hiding something else. She's happy and I'm happy - what's not to like?

Light enough to still look natural! 3 Nov. 2014
By Robert Riggs - Published on Amazon.com
Colour Name: Shade 02 Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I saw this and wanted to try it. It definitely sounded interesting enough, adding an extra dimension and all per the description. Anyway, it comes out of the pump bottle orange with sparkly flecks which almost look like glitter. It goes on smooth and doesn't look orange at all after applying. By catching the light, I can see why it would create a shimmering incandescence, etc. like the description says. Therefore, it does stand to reason that it does add to your glow and appear natural as it doesn't go on heavy and doesn't look like you are actually wearing anything. I actually like the natural looking part. I added a bronzer on top and looks fine. Just remember to lightly blend over cheekbones only to add that extra dimension look.

Overall - I think it's light enough to look natural, but does have an effect. I like it and will continue to wear it under my bronzer. Just add blush then if you prefer or as I'm discovering, for the casual look - without blush looks even more natural. But, either way - it appears to look great. Marilyn

OOMPA Loompa fears banished with first use! 2 Nov. 2014
By Leah Marie Brown, Author - Published on Amazon.com
Colour Name: Shade 02 Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Hello. My name is Leah and I'm a Cosmetics Addict. I can't see a new cosmetics line without buying something from it. When I saw this Liquid Illuminator by Japonesque, I said, "Get in my cart! Momma needs a pretty fix!"

After ordering it, I searched Amazon and the Japonesque website for manufacturing information, but nowhere on the Japonesque website or on Amazon does it say where the products are made. As a bonafide China Phobe, I was extremely nervous that this product was made in China.

So you can imagine my delight when I received the box and saw on the outside the words Made in Italy. Huzzah! My new beauty fix won't melt my face like battery acid!

Then I opened the box... And saw that the Liquid Light was neon orange. I am talking Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory OOMPA LOOMPA orange. I was tempted to package it back up and return it to Amazon for a refund, but in the name of fair, impartial scientific research I knew I had to at least try my new OOMPA LOOMPA Lotion.

The first squirt came out super orangey and flecked with iridescent flakes. Talk about taking a turn for the tragic worse! Not only was I going to look like a character from a ridiculous children's movie, but the iridescent flakes were going to highlight my 45-year-old wrinkles.

This product taught me a valuable lesson: you're never too old to believe in miracles!

Not only did the liquid light lotion go on smoothly, but it blended into my very pale skin without leaving an orange residue. The glittery flakes blended in as well, leaving a slight sparkle. This lotion leaves my pale skin looking like I've just spent today at the beach. It gives me a fresh-faced, sunkissed look!

Negative:
- The lotion blends enough that wearing it under foundation is pointless. You won't even be able to tell you're wearing it
at all.

Positive:
+ This lotion is light enough and leaves just the right amount of flush/bronzer on your face to make it perfect for wearing instead of foundation, like to the beach or when you want a sans makeup day!
