I was born in Fife and now live in the Shropshire countryside, still making regular visits to my golf club in Crail overlooking the Firth of Forth.
Towards the end of a varied career I worked in Czechoslovakia after the velvet revolution, teaching management at the Technical University of Brno; also occasionally in Holland and Germany.
My first novel "Cuelsin" is based very much on experience but in a fictional setting. It deals with relationships between government, the security services and criminality. It will shortly be followed by "Held to Account", an imaginitive take on the EU's missing millions, reacquainting the reader with characters from Cuelsin.
I am well travelled and only able write about people and situations familiar to me, whilst always maintaining the confidentiality of my characters and fictionalising the events that overtake them.
