CD Description
Zhu Xiao-Mei copied out the Well-Tempered Clavier by hand whilst in a labour camp during the Cultural revolution. Classical music was banned and this was one of the few scores she managed to obtain in secret. The notebook that she used is very precious to her and is now featured in the CD packaging. I tell myself that if this music had so great an impact on me in that environment, it can touch anyone anywhere in the world.

MIRARE
I like Zhu's WTK 1 rather than Evgeni Koroliov and Vladimir Feltsman, after I heard them again. And I think Zhu's WTK 1 is the best one played with modern piano after Gould. She plays it fast and it sounds like her Goldberg with virtuosity. The fugues are good of cis-Moll, dis-Moll and a-Moll. The fugue of cis-Moll, dis-Moll is played straight than Feltsman but I think I can hear the parts (voices) of them rather than Feltsman. The fugue of a-Moll is remarkable. The timing is fast:
