I had only just started reading the first few pages of this biography through here and I was gripped, and eager to read more, not only because it is written in a storytelling type of biography, but because I have always been fascinated by J.K Rowlings genius ideas behind harry potter, and how she never ceases to amaze. Her up-bringing and childhood is been much of a thing I have always wanted to know more about, and how the idea of the wonderful world of Harry Potter was first encrypted, it is amazing. I have read and watched things on TV about the houses she grew up in, and the dark parts of her life that aren't fully foretold, the parts which Joanne doesn't tell much about, like the many stories she has kept to herself. Which is why I conclude in this written review that she is a top idol for me, and still plan to read her books several times in years to come. This is a must buy for me.

Very kid-friendly biography of JKR 15 Jan 2009
By Lena - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I got this book for my daughter and read it myself, since I wanted to learn more about JKR. Even though I knew some of the facts, that's the first time that I had a chance to read the "whole story".
This book is written in a very simple language and presents all the major events in the life of J.K. Rowling in a way that is readable and interesting for kids.
My daughter enjoyed it very much and even recommended it to her friends, who are also HP fans. In her reading response for school, she wondered what is the best way to organize your writing ideas... Well, this is certainly encouraging. And the sign of good book.

Good Biographical Book On Harry Potter's Author 12 Feb 2008
By Tiger/LiL - Published on Amazon.com

If you're wondering how J.K. Rowling came up with the idea for the Harry Potter books, and how she *envisioned* the characters, this is the book to read! It's written in very understandable, plain, and simple language that your kids will love to read too! If they're "Potter-Aficionados" ~ they should have this book! (It may even inspire them to 'aspire' to write their own stories someday)!

My Hero 12 Feb 2010
By The Truth Sayer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This book is great to learn about how Harry Potter's creator came to be the truly wonderful person she is today. It goes from her childhood to her life now. As someone who always wants to know more about how things have come to be, this book satisfies my curiosity about the creation and inspiration behind my favorite book series of all time. I take my hat off to J.K. Rowling. She has worked unbelievably hard to maintain her sanity in an insane world to get where she is. This book further proves that she is an extraordinary individual that has made her mark on this world.
