It's amazing. My daughter is 10 and has had loads of fun playing it today. It's like augmented reality. The book itself is a blue and white plastic book. There's a camera which you aim at the book, then on the tv screen you see the book, but it looks totally different. Lots of things coming to life. Lots of different chapters in the books with spells to learn and then games to play with the learnt spell. You can link the game to your Pottermore account as well.
The man thing about the game is definetly the wow factor. The games themselves aren't as good I wouldn't say as playing something like Skylanders or Mario. I'd say that perhaps when you get over the wow factor the novelty might wear off. But if your son is a HP fan he'll love it.
Wonderbook - Book of Spells requires PS Move and PS3 Eye Camera. There are actually 3 packs available: * "Starter Pack" Edition for those who own a PS3 console but not the PS Move Controller and PS Eye Camera; * "Solus Game" (Standard Edition) for those who own a PS3 console, PS Move motion controller and PS Eye Camera; * and an all inclusive Console pack which includes the PS3 console, Wonderbook accessory, Book of Spells Video Game, PS Move controller and PS Eye Camera I hope this helps
