A stunning debut 30 Dec 2007
Format:Audio CD
This is a punk classic. I can remember buying the LP and then getting another one just incase anything ever happened to the first record! Fantastic driving guitars, extremely tight, searing lyrics. However the CD is a re-recording 5 years after the original(i think i recall the original recordings were lost?) the result, in my opinion isn't as raw. What you really need is the LP version on CD! Brilliant anthems all of them.
- What is it with people who talk about production quality? There's nothing wrong with it and it's a punk album for god sake, not Pink Floyd, over production is the worst...

This is definately the best Conflict album. It is more musical and diverse in style than subsequent releases. I would give it a four and a half if that was an option as a couple of tracks are not as gold standard as the rest (plus I'm not keen on being labled a murderer for having a bacon sandwich).
This album is thought provoking from start to finish and each track stands out in style from the rest. You can hear the raw passion in each piece of work.

Although many groups' first albums are often their best, this is not the case with Conflict in my opinion. The production & music is not as good as The Final Conflict or The Ungovernable Force (if you have to choose, get these other two as they are GOOD). There is passion in the stlye & the lyrics are heartfelt, but it does sound kind of... noisey sometimes. And I like a good racket, like Crass, et al. So, now you know (my personal opinion, of course). Sorry Colin.
