Book Description
The book shows the effects of thoughts and feelings on the body, even showing the effects upon our DNA, citing recent discoveries in science like depriving an infant of its mothers loving touch switches off genes responsible for growth. The second half of the book extends this to look at effects on our personal lives and collective effects of collective thinking, offering up a single message that love, compassion, and kindness really can make a huge difference in the world.
From the Author
The book is original in much of what it describes, but particularly in the simple style that it is written in. I wrote it to make the areas of mind-body-spirit and mind-body science more accessible to the general public, using my background as a scientist and college lecturer to give it credibility.
From the Inside Flap
Dr David R. Hamilton gives us a clear, credible, and inspirational picture of how powerful we all are. In language that is effortlessly easy to understand, he explains phenomena like holy water, the power of intention, and how our emotions affect our DNA.
Dr Hamilton uses science to prove that love, compassion, and kindness really can make a difference in the world that we live in today, and ultimately concludes, "It's the Thought that Counts."
Dr Hamilton has been featured on TV, BBC Radio, and has been the subject of national newspaper articles.
About the Author
David R. Hamilton acquired an honors degree in biological and medicinal chemistry, and a Ph. D. in organic chemistry before working as a scientist in the pharmaceutical industry for several years. His research into the mind-body connection ultimately led him to leave that profession and become a motivational speaker. He went on to co-found an international relief charity, and he appears regularly in the media. He spends most of his time writing, giving talks, and leading workshops.
