The only reason I found out about Errors was through Mogwai, they're on Rock Action Records and have supported them on numerous occassions.
This isn't just a post rock record, it would be wrong to put Errors in a specific genre. Yes they're clearly influenced by Mogwai and 2 or 3 tracks wouldn't sound out of place on
Come On Die Young. The album is entirely instrumental (except 1 spoken word track) but there's another side to this band. There's also an element of electronica - from krautrock to 80's synth pop to acid house like beats. There's also a bit of math rock thrown in as well. It's all happening.
If you like post rock and you're a fan of Kid A, Selected Ambient Works 85-92, Neu! 75 and LCD Soundsystem then you need this album. This album is up there with any of them. It's been very nicely produced as well, if you've got good headphones this is a treat.
I'm a huge fan of Mogwai but I'm not a big fan of other post rock bands. I've always found bands like GYBE and Explosions In The Sky quite dull, they're okay but they're no Mogwai. Errors are a breath of fresh air in what I personally feel is becoming a very tired genre. If like me, you're into the post rock sound but prefer your songs around the 4 minute mark and you like a beat, buy this now, I cannot recommend it enough.
