A Refreshing Voice From Cuba, 28 Oct 2006
This review is from: It's Never Too Late to Love or Rebel (Paperback)
Celia Hart has written a book that anyone interested in Cuba and the Cuban revolution will enjoy. It explores a myriad of topics, including bureaucracy, revolution, internationalism, stalinism, Venezuela, Latin America, and many more. Through the different articles and interviews that are contained in this book she elucidates and illuminates many things that help one grasp the real situation in Cuba and Latin America.
This book is very easy to read from an introduction standpoint, however one would be well advised to know the basic history of Cuba and a bit about Che Guevara.
I have recommended this book far and wide to all my friends and associates who are interested in learning more about Cuba. Since this book takes an unbridled look at the revolution's gains and shortcomings, it is very interesting. Since Celia Hart is a supporter of the revolution and only wishes to increase its gains, this book is vital for anyone interested in participating the international dialogue about Cuba and how to preserve this beacon of hope in the impoverished Caribbean.

Viva Celia - Viva Cuba, 23 Aug 2007
This review is from: It's Never Too Late to Love or Rebel (Paperback)
This little book is a collection of some speeches and interviews.
"It is thanks to Trotsky, the founder of the Left Opposition, she writes, that I have understood that social justice and individual freedom are not contradictory: we are not condemned to choose between the two."
This is the essence of her writing
She points out the connection between Trotsky's idea of permanent Revolution, the politics of Julio Mella, who founded the Cuban Communist Party and last but not leat the internationalist politics of Ernesto Che Guevara
It is a great little book spirited by Celia`s deep faith in the Cuban Revolution and its internationalistic perspective.
