I heard that Elvis' gospel recordings were better than his rock recordings, and since I am an occasion fan of Elvis, I decided to try this album. It is a great mixture of the two sides of Elvis. Some tracks are raunchy rock and blues tracks that remind us that he is the King. Other tracks are homey, Norman Rockwell track that would mesh well with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
This is a great artist, and I can see how his faith fueled his passion and devotion to the holiday. It is a family album that can adapt well to the lonely hearts. It is for everybody.
By the way, Elvis has four Grammies, three for gospel songs, and one lifetime achievement. Compare this to the Beatles' eight, or U2's fourteen. Something isn't quite right, but we still have Elvis!
