Not bad but not great.

It is very useful to have an integrated Italian dictionary for the Kindle. For me it has transformed reading Italian books on the Kindle to make it the preferred medium. Simple scanning by the cursor allows one to get instant translations for those words you don't know or just can't remember. No need to use the paperback dictionary and much faster. It integrates as the default dictionary for Italian books without causing a problem for the default English dictionary. It is possible to search within the dictionary by typing using keypad. There are a few downsides, such as: Not all words that one would expect are covered in the dictionary, (like a pocket dictionary); not all conjugations of verbs are interpreted, so either there is a no result or occasionally the noun is defined, or in some cases the complete wrong meaning, (like a pocket dictionary); it cannot "see" the following word where the word is separated by an apostrophe such as a pronoun followed by the noun e.g. l'noun or dell'noun. To translate such a word one must go to the next word, press return on the interpretation and then type in the word in its entirety. This dictionary is not ideal if you have little understanding of the language and are very dependent upon it since one must understand the interpretation, context and if necessary the conjugation from the infinitive but it is good for the intermediate or above user.
This could have been a great product but it falls short by being a "compact" rather than a concise dictionary and so I have graded it as OK.
