DALLAS HARTWIG, MS, PT, CISSN Dallas Hartwig is a Certified Sports Nutritionist, licensed physical therapist, and functional medicine practitioner who specializes in addressing the underlying causes of disease using a systems-oriented approach. Of all the books & blogs on dietary advice, this is the clearest and most practical - it's an excellent place to start if you're interested in how to eat healthily. I bought two extra copies to give to friends.

Having read several books / articles on dietary health (Gary Taubes, John Yudkin, Mark Sisson, Robb Wolf, Loren Cordain, Michael Pollan and others), I'd say this is the best place to start.

It explains four fundamental principles of what differentiates healthy from unhealthy foods. Then it explains what foods are less and more healthy. Then it provides a simple food plan. Easy to understand, easy to implement, backed by evidence.

This book goes into the biology of food, the thought process behind food choices and gives you a way to change your life. I have totally transformed my relationship with food because of this straight talking book. My skin is clear, I've lost weight, exercise all the time and it really is down to the education from this great book. I've eaten paleo style since reading in May and it is now December. Food is exciting again and I can never unlearn what this book has given me.:)

This book is basically orientated towards the 'Paleo' way of living with a slight twist, rather than focusing on the cave man nutritional principles the author cleverly introduces her own and much more sensible approach to sustainable, healthy, and LONG TEARM dietary choices.

If you want to loose fat, get healthy, and change for good do not look anywhere else! This is a superb book with very comprehensive scientific knowledge, understanding, and explanations orientated towards everybody not just the few extreme or hardcore followers. this book will open your eyes and change your life all you have to do is read it! simple!

I bought this book to help with the chronic tendonitis that has plagued me off and on for years. I love the tough love thing the writers have going on. I have completed more than the whole30 and will continue indefinitely. Not only has the tendonitis improved dramatically, my energy levels have never been so high and I have finally got down to my perfect weight within two weeks of starting. I have always been conscious that what you eat and exercising have a massive impact on your health- this book should be available on prescription!

I absolutely loved this book, I already read Paleo but resetting my eating patterns by doing Whole30 had been fantastic. Extremely well written, sciencey stuff explained in an easy to follow way and some good recipes. Absolutely everybody would benefit from reading this as it also covers quality of sleep, stress, exercise etc

As a sufferer of IBS I have been looking for a cure through diet rather than taking medication. After attempting several different diets such as food combining and clean eating I was still getting attacks occasionally but not as frequently, but then I discovered this book while reading about the Paleo diet and this book makes so much sense. Now I have cut grains out of my diet completely and eat only whole foods and my symptoms have gone. It has given me so much more freedom as I don't have to worry about whether I'm going to have an attack when out and about. I really recommend this book. I'm a big believer that eating a healthy diet can prevent many illnesses and this book proves it.
