Product Description

Product Description

This is a comprehensive look at the events leading up to the death of Baby P. A recent investigation has found that there was poor communication between authorities, a repeated failure to take into account the child's history and inaccurate documentation of events by Haringey Council. Child protection plans were heavily criticized in the inspection report for being disorganized with little analysis of the child and no clear decision-making. With the three perpetrators awaiting sentencing and politicians debating what can be done now and in the future, the public are left angry and bewildered as just how this was allowed to happen.

A very poor book. 25 May 2010
By Jacqui
Format:Paperback
Nothing new in this book, all information could have been obtained from reading newspaper reports of the very sad case. Poorly written, very little evidence of research. Worse is the many, many pages devoted to a word by word account of reports resulting from the case. These reports do not make interesting reading in a book of this nature, and in my opinion are used to fill pages, in what is a short book anyway.Save your money!

By Crookedmouth TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
I saw this book on the supermarket shelves the other day and was, I frankly admit, moved to nausea. I had no idea that such books existed nor that "authors" could bring themselves to create them. Consider the cover - a cheap-and-nasty posterized repro of that haunting photo, the faux moralising of the title (surely a manifestation of the author's flaccid self-justification?) and the artless regurgitation of the contents of contemporary newspaper reports of the case. Everything about this oozes cheapness and a lack of morals, with the author's reprehensible urge to make money from the poor mite's brief, painful and loveless existence.

I honestly wonder how John McShane can look himself in the mirror every day. Shame on you for even considering putting money into this man's wallet.

Terrible book that is badly written and not researched by the author. It is judgemental and looking at blame rather than constructive thinking.

Lazy Writing
Just a reproduction of press stories and reports. Absolutely no real insight into why this happened to an innocent young child. Save your money.
