'Isolation' is a great title for this film. Not only is the location bleak and beautifully filmed to convey a sense of dread and fear but the small cast of characters all feel like they are running from or have run from something and all convey a sense of loneliness and 'Isolation'
I will not dwell on plot because others have already done that.I will just say that the makers of the film have have come up with a slightly different spin on your normal horror film. The fact that it has a basis in reality, being about 'Unscrupulous Genetic Research' adds to the feel because you just know that one day something like this might actually happen.
Extremely well acted (Special mention must go to John Lynch 'The Farmer' who , whilst not having lots of dialogue, still manages to put in a fabulous performance), great effects (No Digital) and fantastic Camera Work which captures a different side to Ireland rather than the twee cottage scenario that is normally portrayed in films/tv.
Put all of this together and you have one of the best low budget, independent films to come out of this country for a long while.
Extras are Cast Interviews (not overlong but interesting), Short feature on design and effects and Trailer.
I am a fan of commentaries so was a little disappointed that there wasn't one but overall it does not detract from this great film. Very Highly Recommended.
