Isola, together with Hagnesta Hill and 2002 release Vapen & Ammunition constitutes the "magnificent three" in the career of this Swedish band. However I have always felt that the English versions of Isola and Hagnesta Hill were somewhat pointless. True, the translations do work to some degree, but some of the power, intensity and atmosphere of the original-language songs is lost. Singer Joachim's English, also, fails to impress, leaving me, at least, with the conclusion that buyers are advised to go for the Swedish version. That said, even this translated version of one of the really great releases in European music of the last few years contains enough resident class to earn itself a nice rating of "4". Do yourself a favour and get hold of Kent's original-language magic, and be enthralled by pure genius.

Fantastic ! This album sounds amazing in the native language, and you get the bonus of not understanding what the song's about (make it up for yourself). If you plan to buy for the first time, buy the Swedish version first...learn to love it...then get the English version. You won't regret it - I promise you. More kick-ass rock & emotion than you could shake a stick at !

This album was my first taste of Kent. I was immeadiately taken by the raw vocals and sing-along choruses. There are some very-heavily influenced tracks here, Lifesavers sounding like Pablo Honey-era Radiohead, Things She Said very reminiscent of Oasis, and even some more mainstream influences, if you lsten very carefully. However, i'm still trying to track down a Swedish version of this album, to hear what the songs were meant to sound like. But for a translation, this is very good. Look out for them in future, they could become very big

This is it, one of the best album ever, telling a story with the perfect ending, maybe the lyrics does not work as well in english as they do in swedish where they are pure poetry but it is still a "must have" in every rock/pop lovers collection.

a album seldom in peoples collection due to kents relatively unknown talents. From the off this album doesnt dissapoint, the lead singer prounounces english words in a way that adds something extra to the emotion of the songs. As an elvis fan myself elvis was a standout track initally but the other tracks came through soon enough.if you were here and celsuis are fantastic but honeslty all tracks are gems. the album closes with the haunting chimes off 747 forcing you to press play again and wait in vain for kent to tour a town near you soon.

I originally heard of Kent from my sister who had just bought Hagnesta Hill. I thought Hagnesta Hill was so good that I had to get more of Kent so I was straight on Amazon to order Isola. Although not as good as Hagnesta Hill it is packed full of some excellent tunes such as 747. This band is huge in Sweeden and are looking to make it big in the UK and I can't see them having any problems with this album its amazing. If you are looking for a album that has excellent lyrics and great music look no further this is the album for you.
