I read this book while on holiday and found that I couldn't put it down and having gone through the same as Isobel found that I could relate to it. This book is a story about a girl who thinks her life has ended and her struggle to get her life back on track again. I found myself really caring about Isobel and laughed alot throughout the book until I got to the end. I felt Sheila could have told us a little more about what was going to happen to Isobel instead of the abrupt way she ended it hence the 3 stars. Still worth a read though.

A good light read 13 May 2003
Format:Paperback
I enjoyed this book, mainly because I could empathise with Isobel having previously found myself in the same position as her with a cancelled wedding on my hands and a feeling of 'what do I do now...?'

I think the story captures the feelings of wanting to run away from the present and try to make a new future while still holding onto hope for the unfinished business of the past. I've been there too!

I found the ending a little predicatable and unsatisfying but that's probably true to life too! However, it entertained me and I would recommend it for anyone who likes a good story that moves relatively quickly. A good holiday read!

Average Chick Lit 21 July 2004
Format:Paperback
If you are a fan of romantic fiction then I think you will enjoy this book. If you prefer your chick-lit characters to have a bit more 'Oomph' then maybe you should try a different book....

This was my first time reading any of O'Flanagan's books. I certainly will give them another go, though I prefer my heroines to be a bit sparkier and slightly less pathetic!

As you no doubt have discovered, the book centres on Isobel after her wedding has been cancelled at the last minute. There is a lot of mooching about before she finally gets her act into gear and we can enjoy her experiences. Unfortunately she turns out to be a not particularly likeable person.

Although overall I enjoyed this book, and was interested to see how things worked out for her (or otherwise), there are better books in this genre.

Not a great story
The book was readable, but the story itself was not very imaginative. I was very disappointed by the ending. It completely let the book down. I wouldn't recommend this one.
