5.0 out of 5 stars Great Christmas Present, 28 Nov 2008
By Mr. R. Falcon - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book made me laugh so hard I wet myself and my 3 neighbours on the 4.10 to Canterbury East last tuesday. This urinary faux pas resulted in my person being forcibly ejected from the train at some speed, causing a rural pile up for a passing pack of fox hounds and their red-coated masters. Hmmm...Newbiscuit-worthy, I thought to myself, as I dusted off my coat and removed the canines from my left bicep....

This is a great book, from a great website. Good to have all the best articles compiled into this handily portable compendium. Well, portable that is if you're used to carrying a coffee table around with you. I intend to carry it and my coffee table everywhere, and quote from it at random. Has also solved a few christmas present dilemmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Utterly brilliant, 13 Mar 2009
By Clarissa (Toronto, Canada) - See all my reviews
I live in Canada. It's March, cold, slate-gray skies, everyone's suddenly poor. And as usual, the nation is humourless. So I had to import some jokes, bought this wonderful book, and now I am out of bed and actually pondering washing myself.
NewsBiscuit has been a boon online. I once donated money to the site, I was so grateful to get a joke out here in my homeland.
Thank god it is in book form. I read it in the wee hours, frozen by insomnia and I am comforted.
Brits should know that I didn't just buy the book at criminal exchange rates; I also paid for Deutche Poste (weird, eh?)to deliver the book from Britain for an extortionate fee. Well worth the folding money.
Canada needs a laugh. So it got a laugh. I am one laughing Canadian.
My favourite joke was "Global warming: World leaders agree 'to cross that bridge when we come to it". That was good. Also Ryanair charging for "emotional baggage."
Did not get joke on cover. What is Ceefax? Why is Isle of Wight so excited to get it?
Cheers,
Heather Mallick
