I would have to give this deck like 10 Stars. The first 5 stars would go towards how AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL the artwork is. Its just flabbergastingly stunning and breathtakingly beautiful. The other 5 stars would speak toward's this deck's accuracy.
I was drawn to buying this item because the images on the box were very beautiful... but also, foolish me, I thought it would help me to create closer ties with a romantic interest. This deck, like most of Blue Angel's creators, is a very spiritual deck. So if you're hoping to divine the future or looking for fluffy messages to help get you through the day... you will be gladly disappointed it does not provide you with such themes.
CARDSTOCK/PACKAGING: All Blue Angel cartomancy items come in very sturdy boxes that last for a long time. They are also big boxes (about 5" x 6") because the cards are a nice large size themselves (about 4" X 5") which makes an ideal canvas size for such splendid artwork as Fairchild's to be displayed. Cardstock for this deck is different than many of the newer Blue Angel decks as its more sturdier, its as sturdy as the very sturdy older Blue Angel decks (think Toni Carmine Salerno's Gaia Oracle quality).
GUIDEBOOK: The guidebook here is wonderful.. very thick with about 210 pages of text dedicated to the deck itself. The book is writen by Alana Fairchild and OMG is she AMAZING with visualization. There is about 4-5 pages devoted to each card and it sets the tone for the card's meaning, provides a visualization exercise/ritual and also a chant/incantation. Usually I am very bad at anything meditative, visualization, etc. However these rituals written by Alana are so powerfully moving. I've never been moved by a set of meditations/rituals before in my entire life.
ARTWORK: While Alana composed the guidebook, the artwork is done by Jimmy Manton in which he has contributed to other Blue Angel Oracle decks in the past like Gods and Titans, Goddesses and Sirens, and some for Oracle of the Dragonfae. The artwork gets a double OMG OMG! AMAZING. Its like museum quality art pieces. My fear of buying this deck was will the artwork represent Isis and Osiris as Anglo charicatures and features... I've seen too many Egyptian decks do this and it makes me want to roll my eyes. I think Manton did an excellent job in not totally white-washing Egypt and portrayed the images in ways that celebrated the multi-ethnic region this community hosted and became. I wouldn't say its an exact representation of the cultures there, but the hues and the skin tones selected definitely does not make it seem as though neither of the authors ever read or been to Africa/Egypt.
PERSONAL READINGS: Because there is a beautiful story shared between the illustrations and the guidebook (Manton and Fairchild seemed to be really cohesive in continuity) this makes for an enjoyable ride. My favorite card during one of my readings is "Flower of Life- Divine Creativity and Manifestation". When I had picked up the card I thought "man I wished I was as hot as the Isis on this picture" and when I entered into the meditation/ritual/visualization exercise I could see my potential self in all of the same glory Isis stood in that picture... which was EXTREMELY POWERFUL. When I opened my eyes and looked at the image on the card and compared it to the mental image of my perfected being that came through the meditation... I actually thought I was hotter than the image of the card... and its because I am more beautiful in real life than I give myself acknowledgement of and for and what people have told me about my beauty, I could never see before till I entered into that rarely and extremely powerful ritual. This is an AMAZINGLY, PROFOUNDLY POWERFUL SPIRITUAL product. Because the artwork is so beautiful, it reflects and represents the strength, beauty, intelligence found within. So the balance between the powerful meditation and the beauty of the artwork makes this such a powerful deck.
OVERALL: I think this item is great for art enthusiasts... Isis/Egyptian enthusiasts... and anyone entering into a spiritual path. I was very hesitant to try the rituals because I don't believe in "rituals" and plus visualizations never worked for me. However this deck has helped me to clear away the needed spiritual debris in my life to reveal and unfold an awesome Danielle. Yes, there is even a card in there related to romantic relationships, but for the most part this deck is about you. Making you pretty darn awesome so you can serve and support yourselves and others. It's like getting a spiritual baptism each time you use this deck. I cannot say enough words about this deck other than its extremely powerful to the point it is nearly life changing.
