From the Author

About Writing This Novel:
Writing this book was both a challenge and a joy; a challenge because I wanted to remain faithful not only to the background story of the comic books, but also to Asimov's undaunted optimism about the future; a joy because I was given a chance to more fully flesh out the characters--an area I consider my personal forte--and explore complex themes better suited to science fiction novels than comic books.

Fans of the I-BOTS comics series will not be disappointed, for the book remains true to the universe as originally envisioned by Asimov; readers of science fiction need not worry if they've never read the comics, for TIME WAS stands on its own.

The writing was approached with the same enthusiasm and self-critical eye that I apply to all my fiction, and the result is a book I'm very proud of.

Although quite a good story it didn't have much of a spin off from Asimov but it did give a different slant on how robots could develop.
A bit too sentimental for my taste.

5.0 out of 5 stars I-Bots was a fun book to read. 8 April 2000

I-Bots was a fun book to read. It stayed within the boundaries of the Asimov universe. It was an exceptionally action oriented book which sets it apart from other books in the Asimov universe. I found it to be a quick and enjoyable read. I liked it so much, I read it in one night. The book has well developed characters. The plot was well thought out with many exciting twists and turns.
5.0 out of 5 stars why are there not more? 5 Jan 2009

This book was good-I loved it-and the characters came so much to life but I'm a huge fan of Steve Perry anyway and there's not much he writes that isn't good. I first met him reading the Alien vs Predator series and enjoyed him immensely so have followed his Aliens books and Predator book. I'm also a HUGE Asimov fan and I felt like this book did him justice. A good combination and I'm stunned that there are not more books for these characters. All I could find was a few comic books. We need more of Psy-4 and Stoner. Highly recommend this book-loved it!
