Product Description

All 13 episodes from the first series of the Japanese anime that follows the complicated adventures of an everyday schoolboy zombie. Brought back to life by mute necromancer Eucliwood Hellscythe after being mortally wounded by a serial killer, zombie Ayumu Aikawa now finds himself living with his cute saviour. If that wasn't weird enough, the appearance of a chainsaw-wielding 'Magical Garment Girl' heralds a new phase for Ayumi, when, after Eucliwood's intervention, he emerges as the world's first magical girl zombie, complete with pink frilly dress. The episodes are: 'Yes, I Am a Masou-Shoujo', 'No, I'm a Bloodsucking Ninja', 'Yes, I Have Twin Tails', 'Am I Radiant?', 'Yes, It's Miyako Tofu', 'Yes, I Am the Harbinger of Death', 'Hey, What School Do You Go To?', 'Hehe, I'm a School Wife', 'Yes, I'm a Great Stripper', 'No, That Will Explode', 'Yes, Stay at My Place!', 'Yes, Still Goes On' and 'Eh? This Is the Final Episode?'.

Product Description

Some guys have no luck; he's got no pulse. That's life for unfortunate, undead Ayumu. First, he was murdered by a serial killer. Total bummer. Then he was resurrected as a zombie by a cute little necromancer. That seemed pretty cool until she moved into his house, refused to speak, and forced his rotting carcass to do all the cooking. After that, a magical girl in a pretty pink dress used her matching chainsaw to chop his corpse in half. Luckily, the necromancer's powers of resurrection trumped those of the chainsaw chick, so instead of dying (again), Ayumu became the world's first magical girl zombie. There's also a voluptuous vampire ninja who thinks zombie boy's a pervert - and a hideous crayfish demon who wants to devour him. Confused? All you gotta know is this: zombies, frilly dresses, demons, and moe chainsaws. Pink. It's the new dead.

There are many harem Anime's out there; some are quite good, like Heaven's Lost Property and Infinite Stratos, then there are some that are average, like Date A Live, but then there are some that aren't as good, like Highschool of the Dead (NOTE: I'm not sure if this counts as one, but from what I've heard it apparently does). Is This A Zombie is at a glance a bog standard harem anime, but has things that grab you're attention more than some of the other's. And I like that in an Anime, especially when I've seen quite a few in the genre.
Naruto and Bleach made me like the Shōnen Anime genre more than I, sort of, did already. Haruhi Suzumiya was one of the first comedy/Sci-fi anime I watched and I enjoyed it a lot. After refusing to watch Magical Girl Anime's, like Sailor Moon, I was forced to sit down and watch Madoka Magica, and while the ending was not the best it was still a decent deconstruction of the genre that I hate with a passion, except when it's used for comedy purposes that you are not supposed to take seriously. Evangelion made me love Sci-fi Anime more than anything, in fact it sort restored my faith in Sci-fi as a whole genre. So, the question is, what is Is This A Zombie like? Is it good? Is it okay? Or is it complete ****? I can reassure people that is not latter, but people's opinion of the show and everything it contains will vary from person to person.

Our story is based around an ordinary highschool student at first glance, but he is in fact a Zombie. One night when he is wondering around a graveyard he comes across a chainsaw wielding Magical Garment Girl who save's him from a Bear like Megalo, but she does it by cutting him in two.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Funny!! 22 Sep 2013
This is a very hilarious show, the dub version is better cos of all the zombie references and wordplays, all thanks to Tyler Walker, the same man who directed the Fairy Tail dub. Newcomer Austin Tindle nails our weak-kneed zombie protaganist Ayumu Aikawa, from his pessimistic narration to the goofy perverse lad we learn to love. Other cast members that stand out are Anthony Bowling as Orito, the typical pervert best mate and Jad Saxton as chainsaw wielding extroardinaire Haruna. While fanservice is used regularly, Ayumu himself is sometimes the subject, youll soon see why. But it's the fact that it does not take itself seriously that is the shows appeal. definitely worth watching.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pervertedly amusing 22 July 2013

This title peaked my interest because it sounded oh so very weird and thus I decided to give it a go.
It is an ecchi harem anime, meaning one guy with lots of pretty girls and something I do not normally bother with but this show does not take itself seriously at all.
We have our hero who is a zombie, resurrected by a mute female necromancer whom he serves whilst looking for the person that murdered him.
More bad luck befalls our hero as he is mutilated by a magical garment girl and accidentally absorbs her powers becoming a transsexual zombie magical girl.
I will not go any further since it gets weirder and is quite funny if you like double entendre's and perverted fun you will enjoy this.
The dub is fine and the art is very well done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really funny 18 April 2014

This is very funny and quite, deliberately, silly. Well worth buying. I am usually not a fan of anime splashed with quick jokes but this one beats the lot. It was so good I am slowly buying the manga! Get it!

Wonderful Japanese Anime about a boy who gets killed, then returned to life by a Necromancer and then Killed again to be saved by A magical Garment girl who he then accidentally steals her powers (and her clothes).

Very silly and wonderfully sarcastic. A must have for anyone who likes silly Anime.
