Isn't it just bloomin' typical? For some reason, this is the last Brand X LP I bought, as I seem to remember a very long pause between this and the next outing, by which time my life had well moved on... Before I had access to a computer, these albums came and went on CD with almost no fanfare. I suppose I thought these discs would be available for ever... I've only just looked for it on Amazon and its unavailability has prompted this quick review.

This album was on a different label to the earlier Charisma/Virgin ones and this may explain why it doesn't seem to be available any more, when the earlier ones are...

The music of Brand X has always been well worth listening to and the track that I remember most from this release is Swansong if I remember correctly. The good humuour and excellent musicianship have stood the test of time too and showed my just how good Phil Collins is as a drummer, even though it's his slushy solo work and hugely ego'd Genesis persona he'll be remembered for...

A shame this CD isn't available at the moment. Hopefully this'll change and I can go into it in more depth..

This has finally appeared on CD and it's long overdue, one of their best efforts, pretty short on playing time though.

This is by far an under rated Brand X release and whilst it is admittedly a bunch of tracks left over from "Product" it has some stunning instrumentals and a far superior version of "A Longer April". Sadly the sound on this master is terrible so worth buying if you love this album but a warning that the sound is way too tinny at times.

I think this CD is supposed to be some previously recorded miscellaneous tracks, outtakes, etc, just cobbled together and released to satisfy the group’s record label commitment at the time (or something along those lines), and in a way it sort of sounds like that – snippets thrown together, a hodge-podge mix, etc. However, having said that it is still a decent set of music. I suspect any, or at least most, Brand X fans would like the disc. I guess the most negative thing to me is that the CD is relatively short with only six tunes clocking in at just 34 minutes. But, at least it is still available at a price commensurate with the short running time. I was able to find an inexpensive import copy anyway. Overall, an okay disc if you’re into Brand X.
