From the Inside Flap

I went to the National Portrait Gallery to see the photos of Irving Penn and was amazed with what I saw. This book is worth the outlay and opens a window to an artist who has brought something simply beautiful to the world.

Penn's First Posthumus Publication 17 April 2010

Most of the famous portraits are here, weighted heavily toward Penn's early career. I was hoping for a larger, more comprehensive treatise with better printing, like "Small Trades", but the material here is very good.
