Product Description

Product Description

Ironman 70.3 is the abbreviation for triathlon competitions that cover half the distance of a classic Ironman Triathlon. The Ironman 70.3 consists of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 miles of cycling and a 13.1 mile run. A particular highlight of this book is its great amount of detailed training plans. There are in-depth examples of core and peripheral training and heart-rate dependent pace levels T1-T8, which help to illustrate the year round training recommendations. It also features advice on swimming, cycling and running training, equipment, strengthening and stretching, typical training errors, recover, self-motivating, performance testing and motivation tips, as well as anecdotes and emotional stores from competitions.

A disappointment. 2 Oct 2011
By EvilPettingZoo - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is hilariously bad. The issues are likely due to poor translating. Did anyone proofread this thing for proper syntax and conceptual correctness? Ironically the notes say that Ash is known for his 'famously clear writing' but even his bio blurb is confusing and translated poorly.

Im disappointed because i had high hopes. There are short course guides and long course guides but i havent found a great middle distance book. If the publisher decides to comb over this thing to make it sensical and then reprints it ill be the first to reorder!

The bottom line is that this book is not usable/readable in its current form and anyone looking for a middle distance training guide should look elsewhere.
