I AM NOT A GTREAT METAL FAN BUT THE WRITING OF Garry Bushell makes this a very entertaining read.

It it like Spinal Tap meets The Ruttles and I look forward to reading it again...and I will do the next time I am `down` as it is very funny.

Why the greatest rock band on the planet let Bushell rant on in broken English about their rise in the rock world beggars belief. Avoid if you are a maiden fan!!!!

HASH(0x8d286744) out of 5 stars As told by the local yokel... 31 Oct. 2015
By TomSawyer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
It was a decent overview of the early years. Was not impressed with the local dialect the book was written in. Having read the electronic version, I did not realize there was a glossary in the back. Very hard for a non English bloke to understand. As for the substance, it was also so-so. Very superficial... Just enough to give you a taste. I've loved Maiden for along time and at least I now have some history of the boyz...
HASH(0x8d286798) out of 5 stars Early Maiden 13 April 2015
By PHIL - Published on Amazon.com

I've always been a fan of early Maiden (The Dianno years) so there was allying info on that. Some good perspective on their rise to stardom from humble beginnings. However trying to decipher what the writer was saying was annoying. I couldn't figure outboard the English slang was. It would have been a much better book in proper English and not cockney. I would have rated it lower but l love Maiden. \m/\m/
HASH(0x8ddd3dec) out of 5 stars A quickie 20 April 2014
By Lemmyrulez - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Good, fast read about Maiden. Was at many of the shows listed I the tour info. Have seen both the Paul and Bruce fronted bands and have the albums. Writing style could use less slang, but it is heavy on facts, but not as good as "The Dirt", which is my gold standard for rock bios.

HASH(0x8d2869f0) out of 5 stars Find this book! 8 Aug. 2003
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
My sis has a ragged original copy from our high school days, terrific compilation of photos and the story of the band up to the mid or (maybe) late 80's. Great stuff on the early days, wish it were back in print!
HASH(0x8d286bd0) out of 5 stars Fantastic, funny contemporary view of Maiden at the height ... 28 Jun. 2015

Fantastic, funny contemporary view of Maiden at the height of their first rise to fame and glory. Remember what it was like in the heyday of '80s Metal before hair metal had gone too far and Iron Maiden had yet to make a single mistake.
