The iron holder does the job of keeping the iron away from children - no matter how hard they pull the cord. The iron rests with the tip pointing away from the wall so the hot base of the iron and the wall never touch. The design is simiplicity itself. Looks great too.
The screws supplied were too short for the job (I had to use my own - not a problem). I put some insulation tape on the hook ends as they were a little sharp. The jaws needed to be delicately prised apart to fit my iron - which they did perfectly (best done once its screwed to the wall). The bottom edge of the base of the iron touches the frame at two points so it heats up slightly (I personally wouldn't put this on to a wallpapered wall without some heat resistant barrier in between - but that's me being cautious).
In summary, I would definitely recommend it in spite of the niggle factors above because once installed, it is an indispensable utility for any home with children.

this is a very reasonably priced item that does exactly what it says on the box.

Stiil not used this

excellent but needs additional fixing
this is a good product and excellent value. delivered fast and well packaged. The only trouble is that it clatters when the larder door is opened. It need a second fixing.
