Everything you need in an MP3 player., 5 May 2004

.
I recently bought one of these after many hours of searching!
I wanted a flash player over any hard drive based player for plenty of reasons - no skipping, smaller, longer battery life, less waiting around for the hard drive to spin!
I didn't want to sacrifice too much on space and didn't mind the cost so this was perfect for me!
Comes with:
Headphones (I bought sony fontopia ones though)
Usb cable
Power supply
necklace
case
arm/wrist strap
internal battery
I am extremely pleased with it. It comes with all the options you could ever dream of. The menu is initially a little tricky but after a day I was used to it. Still don't think i'll ever use all the functions it has. Excellent quality player and really looks the part. I bought this one and the purple 256Mb version as a present and for both of them the colours are not as extreme as they are in the pictures, they have only a slight hint of gold/purple in them which makes them look excellent. (I was quite worried about carrying round this bright gold ugly thing!) The buttons have a good feel to them and it was only the extras that let me down. The battery has an excellent long life, I used it all day at work for 8 hours solid straight from the box and it was still raring to go the next day! The sound quality is superb too. The software was really easy to set up and use, just drag and drop using iriver music manager.
I would definately recommend this to anyone who is willing to pay this much. (You really get what you pay for)

I am a novice to the world of mp3 technology and never had an mp3 player before and it took me quite a bit of time to learn and decide what MP3 player that I really need and can afford.
Finally I decided to buy a good flash MP3 player instead of Hard-drive based one because a) I haven't got that much digital music b) I only have free time to listen to may be couple of hours to listen to music a day (during my commute to Uni and back).
Now I can say I am a proud owner of Iriver iFP-599T. When I opened the package, it took my breath away, it is soo small (I expected it a bit bigger but I am not disappointed by the size, small can be adequate!!) and well built player. The sound quality is amazing and good. I could just get the music off the computer whenever I wanted pretty quickly! There are few impressive features in this player
1) Long battery life. I charged using the USB port during uploading the songs and I have been using it for the past 2 weeks and there is still half battery life left.
2) The radio reception is good.
3) The headphone is actually quite good. After hearing many people complaining about the package headphone I though I may need to invest in a new one but I quite like mine (i.e., if you like the ear-bud type).
For such a small device, the number of alterable options is considerable and very impressive. The only drawback is that I found the manual a bit less user friendly. Maybe this is my first MP3 player and it took me a while to get a grip of the features but if you are used to MP3 players then I am sure you will be able to use it straightaway. This model is a bit pricey, though it will cost about the same if you think of buying a memory card of this capacity.
Overall I can't fault this player. if you're looking for a flash player, get this one...ample memory space and long battery life. Pricey yes but you pay for what you get.
