Format:Audio CD
I love this album and have it on a very used cassette. It conjures up a quite magical atmosphere with all artists in top form, totally in tune with the music. BUT - where is the CD re-master: I don't want to pay over £20 for it!

Have been looking for this album for quite a while now, first bought cd in guantanamo bay naval store in 80's since divorce have lost track of copy but will buy again as i loved the album. well done amazon for listing it

This really does sound like you'd expect it to sound.Apart from a Van Morrison refashioned retread ('Irish Heartbeat')and a newie called 'Celtic Ray' this a collection of Irish folk tunes lovingly performed with enough gusto and virtuosity to carry the listener through from first to last. Van's pipes sound like they are straining a bit but what he lacks in tone and technique he more then compensates with character and sheer grunt.
Highlights include 'She Moved Through The Fair', 'I'll Tell Me Ma' and the lovely 'My Lagan Love'.
No real surprises but a nice album all the same.
