Disappointing,

To expect a comprehensive listing of ALL castles in Ireland for less than a tenner is perhaps stretching expectations a bit too far. However, the 'blurb' on Amazon does invite critiscism when it states 'This guide lists all the Irish castles that are both accessible and worth visiting'. This is patently NOT the case, as the book introduction makes clear - its intention is simply to provide a representative selection of castles accessible to the public.
The total of castles listed therefore numbers less than a hundred, which may seem a lot, but when one considers that County Cork alone certainly has well over 100 castles, it is obvious that many that are worth seeing and accessible are just not recorded here. As a representative selection it's fine, but don't expect a compehensive listing in any shape or form.
