Gordon D'Arcy is a well known figure in the Irish wildlife world. His illustrations in particular have graced many a publication, including this year's Irish Wildlife Trust calendar. This work has outlined an issue of crucial importance in this country, and pointed out problems that are mirrored throughout the rest of the developed world. Using the fate of Ireland's vanished and threatened species, the author discusses the mistakes we have made in the past, and ways of avoiding such mistakes in the future. With his own beautiful illustrations, this book makes compelling reading, and comes highly recommended.
