4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad but could be better... 9 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase
Was trying to get a Case-Mate for my new Galaxy Note 2 and they didn't seem to be available (they are now but are getting bad reviews) so I bought this one which seems pretty close to the Case-Mate's spec.

Good points:

Well made, two part case
Easy to fit (possible too easy - see below)
All buttons work very smoothly
Offers good protection around sides, corners back etc
All openings seem to be in the right place (although you'll need headphones with a narrow plug)
Reasonable price

Not so good points:

Case does not fit as tightly as it might, top and bottom edges are a bit floppy and come away when putting it in and out of pockets - not sure how this will stand up over time
The outside of the case is not grippy enough, the phone is big in the hand and I'm terrified of dropping the thing so was hoping for something that felt more secure (the standard Samsung case is much the same same in this respect but it does fit quite snugly)

The Case Mate I had for my G2 was really great but looking at the reviews for the Note 2 Case Mate it seems they've messed up.

So on the whole it'll do for now but I'm still looking for something better.

5.0 out of 5 stars (Almost!) Armour Protection of the Galaxy Note II 7 April 2013
Verified Purchase
Having recently purchased a new Galaxy Note II, the Ionic Guardian is the closest match to the tough cases produced by Griffin for the iPad.

+ Snug fit with a small lip around the phone's front fascia, keeps the phone well protected
+ Cutouts are very well done, easy to access various ports & stylus
+ Volume & Screen Lock buttons are covered with the silicone but still very easy to use.
+ Light, comes in two pieces, a plastic shell & a silicone insole, that fit together to form the case

- Would not put it through the testing done on the Griffin Armor case

I have already dropped my phone several times from desk/waist height and seen it bounce on the cases corner before coming to a stand still. You can't but wince however the phone has survived intact on each occassion, so far, mainly thanks to the case.

All said & done therefore, I am pleased with the case's performance & glad for the purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb Value. 3 Jun. 2013

Bought this for my husband after buying one for myself, he said it "looked flimsy" but soon changed his mind after pulling his phone out of his jacket pocket with his handkerchief and watched in horror as it hit the stone problems..not a mark on his phone...just a good as more expensive versions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why take risks with expensive telephones? 4 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase
This case has a soft rubber inner and a separate more rigid outer. Fitting the two together around the phone may be a bit tricky initially until you get used to it BUT it is worth the extra security and all function buttons etc. on the phone can be accessed while it is in the case: the same make of case on another phone has performed very well despite some knocks, no damage at all.
I've ordered two of the same make of case for smaller phones which I've just bought for my two children, (Samsung Galaxy S3 mini) they don't like any case obscuring what they see as the fashionable sleek lines of a modern phone, but I've seen so many cracked phone cases and broken glass screens that there's no way they are using an expensive item all day without the proper protection. I make them wear their seat belts in the car and their cycle helmets on their bicycles, too! Steve Riches, Northampton, UK.
