I have bought this item locally as my previous box failed when i moved and this manufacturer was the only one in stock.
I am taking it back after I have copied all the films onto another hard drive (it took a couple of days to save them and file them in categories). It saves the files fine, but locks up when you want to play it via a tv. it gets so hot it marked my desk, and the back up support is :(

Avoid Iomega products if you are after Media Players
Iomega's customer care does not exist,you will get no support.
Iomega have yet to make a working Media Player so buy their competitors instead,
quite simply,this Screenplay is incompetant,does not work.
It has no working usb ports,front or rear,it laughably has no optical out.
whether or not it can play dvd files is undetermined,you cant get that far.
Basically stay away from Screenplays,they are not working devices yet,
Iomega are putting unfinished products onto the market.

I bought one of these devices to solve the problem of piles of DVDs in every corner of the lounge. I like things to work straight from the box and this is exactly what it does. If you an afford it, go for the 2TB version as you get more bang for your buck.
I'll happily buy another of these when I fill up my current device. Anybody want to buy some DVDs?
