Reviews

During the rehearsal for the wedding of Lady Anne (Susan Brooks), David (Paul Nicholas) stands in for the groom. However, due to the pastor's (Ralph Richardson) ineptitude, David finds himself actually married to Lady Anne which is just the beginning of a rollercoaster-ride of disaster.

I like the actor Paul Nicholas and wanted to see him in a different roll. A 'fluffy' film that entertained me, if you like Paul it is worth a watch, not upto 'Just good friends' standard but better than a lot of stuff on tv nowadays.

I remember this film from the 80's, watching it again I realised how much I had grown up and the memories from first time around were no longer. Loved the song Elaine Paige sang, still remembered the words.

When I put the disc in my DVD player there was nothing there.
I didn't know how to return return because there was no shipping invoice in the envelope.

What do you suggest on me returning the movie? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Invitation To The Wedding ... hard to get ... VHS tape (no DVD) 27 May 2012

Five stars is for the story, not the product. Unfortunately, the tech quality is quite rough around the edges for both audio and visual. HOWEVER, it was watchable and is probably as good as you're going to get--if you can still find it anywhere. Pity it is not on DVD. The story is clever, sweet, and rather engaging. The theme had been lifted and used in later film creations. Five stars is for the story, not the tape.
