Amazon.co.uk Review
The Invisible Man continued its first year in increasingly tense and cryptic fashion. Anti-hero Darien has to keep up his spying gig in order to be fed an antidote to the side effects of the invisibility gland. Unfortunately it isn't working. The clock is ticking all the way to a tense finale, where the Quicksilver insanity threatens to consume him whole. There's lots of fun with the format on the way, of course. Darien encounters a ghost, a sperm thief and a hitman who likes to blind his witnesses. Some grander political backdrop comes to the fore as well, with the Chinese government seeking surreptitiously to obtain the gland. All the while there's a growing sense that the Agency has troubles of its own. In an unprecedented bit of audience participation, viewers were allowed to vote for the resolution of a story entitled "Money for Nothing". Fans went for the more interesting option, thankfully, and so an invisible bank raid pays off nicely for everyone. Creating constant conflict throughout the year is the lurking presence of arch-enemy Arnaud. The immediate resolution of that conflict is one of several surprise twists that singled out the show as more than standard TV SF fare. Not even a so-so cameo from Star Trek's Wil Wheaton could spoil the fun.

On the DVD: The Invisible Man's second box set features even more extras than the first DVD set. Two cast commentaries are frequently comic, though with a constant sense of disappointment the show didn't go further than two series. There are lengthy interviews with the cast, too. But of real interest to fans will be alternate footage previously unseen in the UK. Some FX shots and script pages round out the package. --Paul Tonks

5.0 out of 5 stars There Once Was A Story part two, 13 April 2003
By Mrs. S. Hickman "suzyh73" (England) - See all my reviews

On April 7th the second Box set of the TV show The Invisible Man was released. Would it match up to the first one? Yes indeedy is the answer. This time round we have the back 12 episodes, part two of the interview with Vincent Ventresca, Paul Ben-Victor and Mike MsCafferty, episode commentary and an interview with Eddie Jones who plays the Official in the show.

We also have the alternate ending for the episode Money For Nothing which at the time of airing in America, the fans were invited to choose what ending they would like to see. With this footage being unseen in the UK it's a real bonus.

Again we have all the scripts on DVDROM, Make Up gallery for the episode Cat and Mouse and Mike's episode notes and trivia.

All in all this second set is equal if not superior to its predecessor, the episodes are wonderful to watch and it begs the question; Why was the show cancelled?

Whatever the reason, this Box Set speaks for itself and this fan would be extremely happy to see the second season end up on DVD in the same delightful professional format.

Who would have thought you could make a good version of the invisible man? This is it though, the main thing is that for the first time the explanation is ~believable. Did I forget to mention
great stories, great characters, its even funny to. Probably one of the best series out of America in years, I don't know why more people don't know about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Entertainment!, 7 April 2003
The second box set of the little known series 'I-Man' is every bit as good as the first. Featuring episodes 11 - 23 of Season 1, this dvd is packed with great Humour, action and contains over 8 hours of light bending entertainment!

The set also features a wide variety of extras including cast commentaries, and previously unseen footage!

To sum up, if you enjoy television then chances are that you will enjoy this too! My sister also really enjoyed this series and she isn't usually a fan of action series. Great value for money, well worth a purchase.
