5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning 22 Aug 2011
Format:Paperback
Well then, the Invincible Compendium is out and... what can be said about it?

It's absolutely beautiful.

Following in the footsteps of the Walking Dead compendium, the Invincible Compendium offers more bang for your buck than essentially any other comic book out there. Collecting the first 47 issues of the series, this is definitely going to keep you busy reading for a long time. A fantastic story and reinvention of the super hero with absolutely stunning artwork and colouring to compliment it. I already own the first six Ultimate Collections but even I had to double dip on this the moment I saw it listed.

I initially had my reservations, wondering if this was going to be a black and white collection, but no. Full colour on very, very nice glossy paper. Absolutely fantastic!

Anyone who may be interested in picking up the Invincible series owe it to themselves to pick this book up, read, and enjoy. Heck, even people who aren't should and enjoy the wonderful work on offer here.

Heck, even those who already either own the individual issues, or the trade paperbacks or hardcover collections should pick this up as well!

Absolutely flawless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, but hard to read in the bath 25 July 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
A great, cost effective way of reading the Invincible story from the beginning. I'm a fan of the standard DC and Marvel superheroes and picked this up on a whim. It stands up to these old favourites very well. The story, whilst still very much a superhero comic, doesn't patronise the reader like some other series do. The only other thing worth mentioning is that this is a very large book, so is tricky, but not impossible, to read in the bath; a key factor in any book buying decision.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a surprise 26 Feb 2013
By Nathan
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is my first review for a graphic novel from amazon, even though I have purchased many. I felt compelled to write this review and to start proper, I must say, invincible totally caught me off guard.

I bought the first TPB and hated it. I thought it was dull. My friend corrected my stupidity and borrowed me his compendium. I was blown away. I bought my own copy the next day and read it in two days!

The characters are fantastic, the development is great, what I love most is being able to see the side that most comics ignore. How a big change in a hero’s life affects the friend and family dynamic, and this displays that amazingly (invincible’s mother became a character I grew to love)

All I can say is that I can't wait for the next compendium (I may even collect the trades if it doesn't hurry up)
The value is incredible compared to the trades, and for how heavy the graphic novel is the delivery is very cheap.
