I found this book very interesting. It covers what types of questions people ask when interviewing people wheather they be suspects in a crime or a job applicant. It is mostly based on crime victims or crime perpetrators, but the same principle applies when asking any question. Many topics are covered and for the Police Officer it contains up to date information on current situations which occur in interview rooms, ie. bad questioning. It is well written and very well researched by the respectable authors. Dont ask "Should i buy it?", instead ask, "When will I buy it?"

This is an excellent book and should be required reading for any investigator wishing to improve their interviewing skills. It guides the reader through the underpinning psychological research that informs ethical investigative interviewing and then gives practical advice on how to apply this knowledge. The authors have made a valuable contribution to improving the standards of testimony obtained from witness and suspects;this book should be read by all police officers especially those taking the ICIDP pathway in the UK and aspiring to Tier 3 training.
