The Entrance to the Great Glen...

Ordnance Survey Landranger Map #26 covers that area of Scotland from Inverness west and south around Loch Ness and the northern portion of the Great Glen. Ordnance Survey Landranger series maps offer 1:50,000 scale detail sufficient to navigate by road or on foot or bicycle. The multi-colored presention provides physical terrain features, elevation, and man-made structures in some detail.
This particular map includes the city of Inverness, the Beauly Firth, the lovely town of Beauly, the western portion of the Black Isle, the northeast half of Loch Ness and the surrounding Great Glen, and the Strathglass valley. This map also covers Glen Urquhart and the beautiful ruins of Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness itself. Nearby is the visitor center featuring the famous (or infamous) Loch Ness Monster.
This Ordnance Survey map and others like are very highly recommended to those planning to do their own navigation across the Highlands of Scotlands, where roads are few and the terrain tends to be rugged.
