5.0 out of 5 stars Introduction to Inventor 15 Aug 2013
By Larry Stegner - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
He is an Excellent Instructor. It really works well to have Example Files that allow you to operate your Program as though you knew what yo were doing. It make me happy that I sprang for the full Inventor Suite. It is wonderfully Powerful.

4.0 out of 5 stars For School 9 Sep 2013
By JaredL - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I use this for school and it definitely helps tremendously. You probably want to have a little knowledge of Inventor and a good bit of AutoCAD experience before diving into this though. The illustrations are helpful I just wish there was more as the steps can get confusing. It is a small book and pretty light for all the material it has in it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good book - logically sequenced. 15 Dec 2013

This tutorial got me up and running in less than two weeks. I do have a little bit of AutoCAD experience - but not with Inventor. The author does a nice job of stepping you through Inventor in a logical sequence. I would recommend.
2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty lousy "beginner" book. 10 Oct 2014
By Jamie Bresner - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I'm only on page 54 and I can't remember ever reading a book that's more frustrating. The author many times has mistaken clicking for double-clicking (or vice versa). No big deal. I figured it out. But on more critical explanations, the author skips steps leaving the reader (at least in my case) very confused how to get from step 1 to step 2 (when in fact there's at least an additional step that's left out). I'll give it to chapter 2, and if the material doesn't improve, the book is going in the trash.
5.0 out of 5 stars Well-written, thorough, accessible introduction to Inventor 26 April 2014
By C. McCue - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Confession: I’m a software trainer and technical writer, which understandably colors the way I read a textbook. My background is printing and the graphic arts, and learning Inventor is taking me into utterly foreign territory. I braced myself for dense jargon . . . and found myself enjoying Thom Tremblay’s conversational and accessible style of presentation. He’s succinct and thorough, without being dry — the caption for one illustration informs you, “There is nothing some sort of Chrome can’t improve.”

This book is well-organized, taking you from an exploration of the interface all the way through building complex parts; nothing is assumed. The exercise files are well-designed and organized, too.

I have a long way to go before I’m comfortable in Inventor, but I’m so glad I found this book. My thanks to Thom Tremblay for creating such a great resource.
