I saw this book as a prize on a quiz show in France and I wanted one!
Not available in any of the French bookshops I went into, i looked it up on Amazon.fr and thought I would buy. Saw this one - much cheaper and in english!
The pop-ups are excellent, nearly as good as the mockups at Clos Lucie. Well worth the money. Buy one now!

This is a coffee table book that is nice to pick up and look at the cardboard engineering and design - but not very satisfying beyond that. Having seen an exhibition of his original drawings in London I thought my kids would be fascinated by Leonardo's vision and scope. The book somehow made the subject matter all seem less impressive - and, in a way, childish. It just doesn't really work as a communication tool.

wonderful book I'm fascinated by his thoughts and his incredible intelligence to see his inventions in 3d is exceptional.

This is a really interesting book, and the pop ups could be lots of fun, BUT they are not well assembled.
Several of the pages neither open nor close easily because some pop up pieces overlap so it takes some fiddling to open the pages fully.
Again, several pages require fiddling to close.
The moving parts on one page hang up so that the pieces do not move as freely as intended.
One piece was not properly fastened and easily falls off.
