I am not typically a romance reader, but the idea of 213 unwed Scotsman dwelling on a single isle grabbed my attention. And the kilts. Can you ever go wrong with kilts?
"The Invasion of Falgannon Isle", summed up in one word, is original. DeborahAnne MacGillivray's unique voice breathes life into the book. Her quirky cast of characters make you feel at home on Falgannon, as if they really exist. Characters trade their surnames for their occupations on Falgannon, like 'Michael the Story' or 'Robbie the Butcher". MacGillivray takes your hand and walks you down the roads of the the self-sufficient isle, where designer labels are laughed at, and unique shops make one yearn to vacation in the reclusive place in the outer Hebrides.
Desmond Mershan appears on Falgannon to exact revenge on the isle's previous owner.
However, he did not calculate BarbraAnne Montgomerie into his plans to pillage and gain control of the isle. She being the current Lady of the Isle, the only one able to return love to all the single Scotsmen.
An ancient curse keeps love from all on Falgannon, and until The Lady marries a green eyed Irishman, none will know happiness.
SO the battle begins for Falgannon. Thank you, literary editor- people, for publishing a book that colors outside the lines.
I won't spoil the ending for you, but hang on, it is a wild ride.
