The next version of Quickbooks , Quickbooks 2001 and accountants have finally got their way with this product, its always been a quirky interface which over the years have been twicked but never really changed, love or hate it, it was easy to navigate for the businessman. Now the product seems to be taking a direction where they have given up pretending 'joe bloggs' can use the product and just kept to conventional accounting terms. Obviously Intuit is fed up been second to Sage in Britain, and needs a more professional 'accounting' image. Accountants (why I don't know) seem to get the job of recommending accounting packages and they tend to recommend Sage, because they look like "Accounts packages". Intuit have always been the better and cheaper product, its just a case of getting this accross, Trouble is, Intuit have sacrificed some of the useability, in trying to achieve this more professional image.There are no new features I found really to helpful me, I don't use stock control. (I still want a invoice that exports to Excel) but new added features are there, only setting them up looked more hassle than it was worth. Still a good accountants package. I have managed to run a business in profit for the last 6 years using it, what better recommendation than that. There was a time when using Quickbooks would have meant your accountant would look at you very strangely, I'm glad to see times are changing.
