Also included are sections on grass grazing, housing, breeding and showing as well as keeping a family cow, cattle ailments, dairying, sales and marketing, thus making this the essential reference for the small-scale cattle keeper.
About the Author
Peter King works with the Rare Breed Survival Trust and is a cattle judge at various shows and events. Former manager of reggae band Steel Pulse, when not farming or judging he DJs at various events, including Glastonbury.

The book is very informative and the author knowledgable. Covers pretty much every aspect of keeping cattle, for beginners like me it is a must have book.

I would highly recommend this book to smallholders as it gives a good overview of the options and breeds and how to look after them. Nothing on TB, so not 5*, but got all that info from the DEFRA rep when he came to fill in the endless paperwork!
