Dr Melanie Fennell is Director of the Oxford Diploma/MSc in Advanced Cognitive Therapy Studies which runs from the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre, which she founded, in collaboration with Oxford University. She is also a clinical research associate in the Oxford University Department of Psychiatry.

About the Author

Melanie Fennell is the author of Overcoming Low Self-Esteem and Overcoming Low Self-Esteem Self-Help Course. One of the UK's leading expert's on low self-esteem, she is currently Director of an advanced cognitive therapy course, a collaboration between Oxford Development Centre (OCTC) and Oxford University. One of the first clinician researchers to introduce cognitive therapy to the UK, she was a founder member of the OCTC, an internationally recognised centre of excellence in cognitive therapy and training.

Lee Brosan is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation Trust, and Trust Lead for the Development of Psychological Therapies. She is the author of Overcoming Stress, An Introduction to Coping with Anxiety, An Introduction to Coping with Depression, and An Introduction to Coping with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

This is a great workbook for individual use and could also be really useful as a workbook for a group workshop / training event. It consists of 38 A5 pages and has useful information and activities for you to complete. I bought this for the resource library that we have at The OPAL Positive Psychology Centre. It is great value for the price and far better than some other workbooks that I have seen.

This book is a very accessible read, with good illustrative examples, easy to follow worksheets and key summarising points.
This is great for beginning practitioners to get a good grasp of CBT for LSE, and can parallel treatment.

I read this book and found that it just touched lightly on self esteem. It should go into more in-depth information. The major part of this book is C.B.T as a self help book it fall short of it's aim
