Product Description

Review

"This new edition is bigger, better and brighter than its first incarnation and is highly recommended for anyone embarking on the NEBOSH National General Certificate. But don’t just confine it to the back of the bookcase once you’ve passed the exams. It should form the basis of an expanding health and safety library for those just starting out on the road to becoming a health and safety professional, or those for whom health and safety is not their main role."

Nick Cornwell-Smith, Safety & Health Practitioner (SHP) Magazine

5.0 out of 5 stars An essential health and safety publication 6 Sep 2009
By M. Lamb
Format:Paperback
If there is one book that every person with an interest in, or responsibility for, health and safety should have on their shelves, then this must be it.
As well as serving as the handbook for the NEBOSH General Certificate, it also forms a comprehensive and authoritative guide for the safety professional, and provides real practical advice and examples for those who have to implement health and safety "on the ground".
All of this is brought together in a clear and logical layout, starting with the comprehensive contents pages, through the colour coded and numbered individual sections, to the detailed index at the back. The clarity of this layout, coupled with the prolific pictorial and diagrammatic supporting information and examples, makes for easy and engaging reading as well as for "dipping in" to locate information on a specific topic or subject.
Clearly enormous amounts of professional expertise, care and effort have gone into the production and recent updating of this book (to the current fourth edition), and it really shows. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars nebosh introduction to H&S at work 22 Nov 2011
By simmoch
Format:Paperback
having bought this book to revise in addition to my online course, i realised that this book offers more than my very expensive course, i would recommend this book along with the nebosh revision cards and the money that you would save on a course you could also buy previous nebosh exams and examiners comments wich are invaluable, put in the work and that should be enough to pass the exam, again think twice about spending a grand on a course, just buy this book !!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nebosh Book 29 Nov 2009
Format:Paperback
As a contracts manager for landscaping on construction sites out in the industry I must admit I had thumbed through this book a number of times and thought it might be useful one day, last week I needed information on hot works for one of my jobs. I thought the book didn't cover this item but to my surprise it not only covers and describes the various risks associated but it gave me the whole picture of my responsibilities, that of my main contractor and client.

As a health and safety tool it is helpful, as a legal aid it is factual and as a complete manual it is essential. I found this so helpful that we now have two copies in our office
