A good book for degree students studying financial accounting at a fairly basic level, this book provides a sound basis for further study into the subject. The layout is inviting and user friendly with a well written dialogue throughout stating clearly the facts and concepts behind financial accounting. This book follows on nicely from the financial aspects of Accounting: An Introduction by McLaney and Attrill explaining further the practices involved and is a good companion for a second year module to an Accounting/Business orientated degree program. Overall a good textbook for the serious user and well worth a look.

This is an excellent book for beginners. I have gone through all the chapters and learnt a great deal of FA (not to mention how great our Prof. was too). And the book has great source of problems but the downside is that students have no access to all answers which I find rediculous in deed. Since a purchaser of this book would like to review the chapters and might want to solve couple of problems to test but since there is no solution manual that is not possible and it is just too sad!

This is probably one of the best books on financial accounting. It clearly explains, step by step the WHY of financial transactions and, hence, increases your understanding about this material. Each chapter ends with a lot of exercises.
Buy it together with its student solutions manual (if you can find it) because all the solutions of the exercises are there. I really can recommend it to everybody who wants to understand the world of financial accounting
