Brillant book, very good detail, slightly basic in first few chapters but helps to give a good insight before getting into the more scientific aspects. Great service from the supplier was delivered extremely quickly, in great condition and would definitely order from them again.

Very disappointed. This book is only adapted for people curious of the sea who have NO KNOWLEDGE at all of the marine world, and definitely not to use in a degree. It gives a good general presentation and touches on everything, with a simple and easy to understand vocabulary, it was probably conceived for a larger public than academics.

Highly recommended! 11 July 2005

This is a very nice book when we marine biologists need a refresher, or as a starting guide to those who wish to become one! I'm a big fan of the 'Chapter Overviews' at the end of each section.

Not sure why it's nearly $100.00 for a paperback book, though. 0.o

I got this book because I absolutely adore Marine Biology. I have no taken a class yet, but plan to. This text book is extremely informative on it's own, and it has a neat website you can go to for chapter quizzes, articles that relate to each chapter, flash cards, and much much more! This text book is great if you're just getting into Marine Biology or you want to further your studies. I recommend this to anyone interested!
Ok Book 18 April 2012

This book is ok. It reads rather boring and even the picture do nothing to excite the mind. I would have rather used a different title than this.
