It could be worse, one supposes 19 Jan 2001

But that isn't really much of a compliment. This book is replete with errors, and is outdated. However, if you are looking for a merely entertaining introduction to Egyptian literature, then this will do. I would recommend William K. Simpson and R.O. Faulkner's "The Literature of Ancient Egypt : An Anthology of Stories, Instructions and Poetry" for a more accurate and readable text.
