Still available, although George Gorman retired from his professional role with the Society of Friends in 1981 and died in 1982, this is a first class introduction to the Quaker movement. Gorman uses simple language and easy to grasp concepts to take the first-time seeker through the the essence of what it is to be a Quaker: 'Approach to Faith; Quakers and Christianity'; 'Quaker Worship'; 'Quaker Community'; 'Quaker Organisation'; 'Quaker Concerns'; 'National Activities'; 'Can I become a Quaker'; and 'Suggestions for further reading'. Whilst such information is readily available in electronic format, Gorman's book breathes life and deeper understanding into the realities of life as member of the Society of Friends. His presence is still fresh, and the book will give a super insight into Quaker life.

Easily accessible and spoke to me whilst I was reading it. Made a lot of sense to me and was written in an informative way, not your usual self-absorbed writer. Good stuff. Thanks Mr Gorman
