5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent foundation 12 Feb 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book because I wanted to find a way to move on in life. I had a feeling of what Shah himself says - "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got."

The book provides a highly accessible introduction to the techniques of neurolinguistic programming in nicely digestible chunks. It is an eye opener in many ways, especially as it is mindful in telling you that you can't use this to change other people, but you can change yourself so that other people relate to you better.

Whether you want to learn how better to influence people, how to overcome phobias or how to prepare yourself for any situation, this book is an excellent starting point. It may be all you need in itself, and if not, Shah provides a helpful list of further reading and information resources to further your studies.

It warrants a second read or more to make sure you've fully grasped all of what it gives you. I found myself at times so enthused at what I was reading that I didn't really take it in. Next read, pad and pen at the ready and then I can properly learn how to change my filter so that I no longer need to write things down in order to commit them to memory.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally I understand how NLP can help me! 23 Aug 2011
Format:Paperback
I saw this book reviewed in the guardian and have heard a lot about NLP and read a couple of books but its still wasn't that clear how NLP could help me. From the moment I picked the book up, I couldn't put it down. It's written in a really informative, helpful way that actually gets to the core of what NLP is and how I could apply it immediately in my daily life. A great read that's now helping me overcome my problems and situations that were holding me back.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book for anyone curious about NLP. 22 Aug 2011
Format:Paperback
Although I am well trained in NLP and see so many books on the subject, this one certainly caught my attention. I read it from cover to cover and liked the easy, accessible and highlighted information that is important for anyone interested in NLP to have at hand. I especially liked the writing style of the author. His style is encouraging and informative and certainly gives the reader the desire to learn more about NLP. I wish there was a book like this when became interested in NLP. I am frequently asked to recommend books on NLP for beginners and this will certainly be on my recommendation list.
