5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent practical guide and good read 12 July 2012
By J.Wall
Format:Kindle Edition
I have always had an interest in child development and bought this practical guide to get an overview of the subject. The book is easy to understand and introduces you to the main principles of child psychology. Very useful for those wishing to better understand their own child's psyche as well as those curious about the repercussions their own childhood might have had on their personality. A great read.

2.0 out of 5 stars Look elsewhere for a study aid. 5 Jan 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought this book as preparation reading for a child development module at the OU (ED209). It was a bad choice. It is not so much an educational/reference text as it is a book for people NOT studying psychology, looking to understand children better.

Maybe worth a read in general interest, but by no means any good for study material.

2.0 out of 5 stars interesting but not what i wanted 24 July 2013
By Julia
Format:Paperback
This book was an interesting read but not specific enough. I needed a book that discussed individual psychologists/theorists. This was a general summing up of psychology in general

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not work for a kindle
This really needs to stay as a book as it does not transfer well to kindle, sometimes you need the double pages that you get in a book!
